Nice lounge close to all the gates. Good place to get away while waiting for your flight. Even though this is an Amex lounge don’t expect all the amenities and trappings of a Centurion lounge.

Nice lounge - don’t go to the downstairs one at gate 5.

This has been rebranded as an Amex Lounge and an Amex Platinum gets you in without a Priority Pass. Not sure when this happened but it was surprising when the entrance looked like a Centurion Lounge.

Very limited food menu for free and the paid options are too expensive. Good seating area so can sit comfortably for a while but don’t expect too much beyond that.

OO food, OK service, but the room was clean and comfortable. Also there’s a view of the tarmac!

Very average. I used my Priority Pass for access. Chairs are soft and comfortable, better than seats in terminal. Lacks recliner chairs like other lounges.  Snacks and food limited. Drinks expensive.

A bit nicer than Copa in seating and atmosphere. Both Priority Pass. Free food and bev selection is very basic. Platinum AMEX card got me in to the main lounge. The other side was for first class.

Slightly better than the Copa lounge, at least bigger bathrooms and a nicer atmosphere with windows. Food and drink selection are the same.

Comfortable seats. Love the view of the runway with the mountains in the back. Nice lighting. Food is basic, and good (not great). I️ enjoyed their contemporary art pieces.

Breakfast is yogurt, mini fruit skewers, mini banana bread, sweet cereal and sweet toast & jelly. All carb based. Coffee and tea. $$$ Better to eat in the food court. Staff unfriendly. View is nice.

A Star Alliance lounge, with modest snacks and one free item or drink by coupon. Clean and friendly, not posh. Great views across the runway.

This is the better of the two pay lounges in SJO, but if you’re using Priority Pass or similar, don’t bother; you’re better off in the Imperial Bar on the concourse where the beer isn’t $7 a go.

Very sad lounge. Some free food options including warm yogurt :(. Limited drinks and low quality food avail for purchase. Is quiet and removed from noise and smell of main term. Wifi so bad I left.

Cash bar. Rude staff. Very basic, with a small, inedible food offering. At least it's not in the basement like the other lounge.

Very quiet and peaceful but food and bev costs $ except for minimal snacks. Even with coupon a Bloody Mary cost $3. Nice view of the runway and the mountains though.

Useful to exit main concourse/use wifi/ restroom. Not a quality lounge. Drink ticket for business class only.  Food is crackers, cheese, small pastries. Lounge is in basement with no windows.

This may be my misunderstanding but I thought that one could pay to utilize the lounges with a price listed. At this lounge, they said I had to have a card and no payment. The staff was not friendly.

Nice view of the runway, mountains, and San Jose. Pleasant staff. Free appetizers and juices. When you arrive, they give you a ticket for a drink (beer, wine, or cocktail), panini or sushi.

Not a bad place to escape if you have a long layover. Yes, alcoholic beverages and food are pricey, but the gates are jam packed. Prefer this lounge to that.

You have to pay for any cocktail other than a Heineken, and any soda other than Pepsi and Diet Pepsi.  Otherwise ok.

The service is adequate, with a variety of snacks in the bar that's good. However, the Wi-Fi is pretty spotty, so if you're looking to get work done, go elsewhere!
